Porch Restoration Project

(Project Warp)

Repair of the South Porch Oak Frame and Roof

Porch Repair 1

porch repair 2

The porch of our mediaeval Grade 1 listed Church of All Saints is over 100 years old and is now in need of urgent repair. An outer door of engraved glass was added in memory of James Teacher (1937-2003).

Some months ago, we noticed that the main corner posts of the Church porch had moved and we quickly arranged temporary fixings to hold them in place.

An expert contractor was asked to inspect the porch and noted that further work was needed both to the woodwork and to the roof.
We have been given permission to proceed with the repairs (Project Warp) and now need to raise funds to cover the costs.

As well as using Church reserves, we have set a target of £2000 to be raised and a member of the congregation has generously agreed to match every donation up to this total.
