Rev Jeremy Ive writes:
If you have visited on a windy day, you may have noticed tiles being blown off All Saints’ Church roof. This is because the fixings are rotting away!
A major gale could lift off a large part of the roof or even the entire roof. It is difficult to say when exactly that would happen but happen it will unless we refurbish the whole roof and the sooner, the better! And when we do so, we will also be able to take the opportunity to put in under-roof insulation, which will greatly help with future heating bills.
The final cost of the project will not be known until some preliminary investigative work has been done. The overall cost of refurbishing may amount to many £10,000s but the first stage target is to raise £4,000 to carry out the work needed to prepare the specification and get quotations.
Please help us to get off to a good start in ensuring that the future of All Saints’ both as a place of worship and as a great artistic treasure remains secure.
